The Role:

We are currently looking for an experienced Procurement Manager to support the Head of Procurement and provide direction and management of the College’s procurement activities, ensuring the provision of an efficient, responsive and specialist service.   Achieving good governance, value for money and legislative compliance in alignment with the College’s strategic intent. 

The post holder will provide expert and authoritative procurement advice and strategic contract management to stakeholders across the college. The post holder also plays a key role in leading and inspiring the team to deliver an outstanding procurement service to internal and external stakeholders. 


Key Responsibilities:

  • ·          To work with the Head of Procurement to review current college procurement systems and consider and make recommendations for the future strategic development of the service.
  • ·          Be accountable for ensuring all procurement activity carried out     by the college conforms to current legislative requirements the college financial regulations and ensuring adherence to delegated financial authorities.
  • ·          To support in the maintenance of the spend dashboard, using the information contained to inform and advise managers and other college staff as required on procurement policies and procedures. Identify, when necessary, sources of supply and assist with the preparation documentation to formalise spend.  
  • ·          To work with category and curriculum leads to write strategies that support the delivery of the procurement pipeline.
  • ·          To maintain governance, risk and regulatory requirements and mitigate NCC risk exposure.
  • ·          To maintain knowledge of legislative changes the impact of any legislative changes.
  • ·          To train and support managers and staff on procurement processes as required.

Who You Are:

  • Excellent written and communication skills.
  • CIPS qualified or proven experience in a similar role.
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines.
  • Proficient with all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience working as a member of a team and effectively collaborating with colleagues.
  • Understanding and commitment to Equality and Diversity and safeguarding, with practical ideas for implementation in this post.
