Finance Director - Part Time

Salary up to £80k F.T.E., 30 hours per week, plus 35 days annual leave & Local Government Pension

Newbury College & University Centre, based in the heart of Berkshire, currently serves around 4,000 learners and has an annual turnover of c£11m. We are on a mission to be an outstanding education provider. As an Ofsted ‘good’ college and accredited with silver Investors in People, we are recognised as a great place to study and work.

We are looking for a Finance Director to join our established Senior Leadership team and help us to build a strong financial base from which to meet the needs of our community and the local economy.

This pivotal role will ensure the College’s financial stability and accurate financial reporting. You will also be the Business Partner to senior colleagues ensuring that the College’s infrastructure is appropriately resourced to deliver an excellent student experience in a growing and vibrant college.

You will be an ambitious forward thinking qualified accountant, with positive communication skills who is looking to progress to that next step in your career. You will be prepared to work both operationally and at a strategic level, which means working effectively with staff, external partners and with members of the Corporation Board.

You could be someone outside of the college sector who wants to work in a job which has a positive impact on the community, or someone in the sector looking for that next role. You should have the skills to build rapport and to be diligent in continuing to build robust finances for the College.

If this resonates with you, we would welcome your application with a view to joining our friendly and dynamic college. In return you will receive a competitive remuneration package which includes generous annual leave entitlement and an excellent pension.

Conversations can be arranged with our Principal Iain Wolloff, to answer any questions.

Newbury College welcomes applications regardless of age, gender (or transgender status), sexual orientation, marital status (including civil partnerships), pregnancy or maternity, disability, race, religion or belief, trade union affiliation, or other irrelevant factor. We will interview all disabled and ex-forces applicants who meet the essential criteria.
