• Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality GCSE English lessons.

• Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

• Assess and monitor student progress by providing constructive feedback and support their development.

• Carry out pastoral responsibilities if required.

Criteria

Essential criteria:

• Level 4/equivalent qualification in English Language/Literature.

• PTTLS, City and Guilds 7407, Certificate in Education, DTLLS or equivalent or PGCE or working towards relevant qualifications that allow for effective teaching of the subject matter.

• Experience of teaching GCSE English Subjects.

• Experience of teaching 16–18 and 19+ learners.

Desirable criteria:

• Degree or equivalent

• Qualification in English Language/Literature

• Assessor Award

• Experience of coordinating exams
