Learning Support Assistants

Salary: £17,787 - £20,070 FTE

Actual Salary: 1 x 35 hours over 37 weeks: £13,686 - £15,443 pa

Actual Salary: 2 x 31 hours over 32 weeks: £10,460 - £11,803 pa

Contract Details: Permanent

Start Date: 35 hours to start mid-August and 31 hours to start September 2021

About the role:

Could you help our Learners achieve their full potential by providing them with additional learning support alongside the normal curriculum provision to help them succeed?

A keen interest in encouraging and inspiring even the most challenging of minds is a must and previous experience of working with young people essential. You will work with individuals or small groups, as supported and directed by our Learning Support Co-ordinators and in collaboration with the teaching staff to encourage students to engage with activities or to work independently.

In this role, you will:

• Work to support students with additional learning needs,

• Mentor students to increase their self-esteem and encourage independent working and

• Keep accurate records of your students’ progress

Qualifications and experience required:

• Level 2 qualification in Learning Support or equivalent (or a commitment to work towards this whilst working with the College),

• Level 2 English and Maths qualification (or equivalent)

• Level 2 qualification in ICT

• The confidence to work with a wide range of young people of differing ability, and

• A positive and adaptable mind-set.
