About Us:

Newham College London, now merged with NewVIc Sixth Form College, is the largest post-16 education provider in Newham. With campuses in East Ham, Stratford, Plaistow, and the London City Institute of Technology (LCIoT) in Canning Town, we serve over 11,000 students across a range of pathways – including 16–18 study, adult education, apprenticeships, and higher education.

With over 800 staff, four main campuses, and an annual turnover of £60 million, Newham College is one of the borough’s largest employers and plays a key role in driving local economic and community development.

The Role:

We are looking for an Exam Access Arrangement Officer to join our Additional Learning Support (ALS) team. This is a pivotal role where you will lead the coordination and delivery of Exam Access Arrangements (EAA) across the college, helping to ensure that learners with additional needs are fully supported to succeed in their exams.

Working closely with the ALS and Exams teams, you will oversee the end-to-end EAA process—from coordinating assessments and managing documentation to ensuring compliance with awarding body regulations. Your work will directly impact learners by removing barriers and enabling them to perform at their best.

Key responsibilities:

Coordinate and oversee the Exam Access Arrangements process across all college sites

Work with assessors and the Exams team to ensure all applications meet JCQ and awarding body requirements

Manage and submit EAA documentation (e.g. Form 8, Form 9) accurately and on time

Maintain accurate learner records and support plans using college systems

Support early identification of learners who may require exam access arrangements

Ensure all approved arrangements are implemented effectively during exam periods

Develop guidance, processes, and training to support staff with EAA procedures

Liaise with internal teams, external professionals, and previous education settings

Our Ideal candidate should have the following qualifications, skills and experience:

Experience coordinating or administering exam access arrangements

Strong knowledge of JCQ regulations and awarding body requirements

Experience supporting learners with additional needs in an education setting

Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage deadlines and complex processes

Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Confident using data systems and maintaining accurate records

Minimum Level 2 English and Maths (GCSE Grade C/4 or equivalent)
