The Role:

We are seeking a proactive and organised Learning Resource Centre (LRC) Supervisor to play a key role in the smooth running and continuous development of our LRC services across the College. Our LRCs are busy, inclusive and welcoming spaces that support thousands of learners each year.

As LRC Supervisor at our East Ham and Stratford campuses, you will lead a team of LRC Assistants and ensure the delivery of a welcoming, inclusive, and well‑resourced environment. You will oversee day‑to‑day operations, coordinate staff rotas, and contribute to events, workshops, and initiatives that promote literacy, digital skills, and student success.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the daily operation of LRC spaces, ensuring high‑quality services, well‑maintained resources, and a positive learning environment.

Create and manage staff rotas, ensuring appropriate cover and alignment with team working patterns.

Delegate tasks to LRC Assistants and monitor service standards, outcomes, and expectations.

Provide effective supervision, support, and development opportunities for LRC Assistants, including one‑to‑one meetings and performance reviews.

Coordinate and contribute to a programme of LRC events, campaigns, and literacy‑focused initiatives.

Support the delivery of LRC Inductions and Academic Skills workshops, contributing to planning, facilitation, and evaluation.

Provide regular front‑facing support at the LRC counters, offering excellent customer service to students, staff, and visitors.

Our ideal candidate should have the following qualifications, skills and experience

Minimum Level 3 qualification (including GCSE English and Maths or equivalent).

Experience working in a library, LRC, or education‑support setting.

Supervisory or team‑leadership experience, including performance monitoring.

Excellent organisational and time‑management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively.

Confident IT skills and the ability to support others in using digital and online learning tools.

Confident in delivering workshops/training to large groups or individuals

Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across departments and campuses.

A commitment to providing an inclusive, student‑centred service.
