The Governors of Newport High are looking to appoint 1 Classroom Cover Supervisor, 32.5 hours per week, term time only. We are looking for an inspirational and motivated Cover Supervisor. The post is fixed-term, in the first instance, for 1 year from September 2026 - 31st August 2027. The candidate needs to have experience of working with different groups of children including those who are vulnerable/ALN. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent classroom practice, have good interpersonal skills and be able to develop positive working relationships with young people. You will cover a range of subjects across the Key stages and be passionate about delivering a curriculum to meet the needs of our learners.
Job purpose:
The post holder is required to supervise lessons during the short-term absence of the class teacher. The post holder will supervise work that has been set, manage the behaviour of students and support students with the completion of work.
