An exciting opportunity has arisen to join North Kent College’s Building Services Engineering team as a Technician.
We are seeking an experienced and passionate individual to provide essential technical support across our range of Building Services Engineering courses, which include Plumbing, Electrical Installation, and Refrigeration & Air Conditioning.
In this varied and hands-on role, you’ll work closely with teaching staff to support the delivery of practical lessons, help prepare and maintain learning materials and equipment and contribute to the smooth running of workshops and training environments. You may also be called upon to assist other areas within the wider Construction and Engineering department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare materials, tools, and equipment for practical teaching sessions
- Maintain a safe and organised workshop environment
- Provide technical support to lecturers and students during practical activities
- Assist across other technical areas within Construction and Engineering when required
- Help ensure compliance with health and safety procedures and industry standards
What We’re Looking For:
- Relevant qualifications or hands-on experience in a Building Services or Construction trade
- Practical knowledge of Plumbing, Electrical Installation, or Refrigeration & Air Conditioning
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
- A proactive, team-oriented approach
- Commitment to supporting learners and staff in a dynamic educational setting

The Role:
Where you’ll work: This role is based at our Tonbridge campus.
Your hours: 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday), 52 weeks per annum
Your pay: £23,557 per annum
