Catering Assistant

Hours: 15 hours per week (11:30am – 2:30pm Monday to Friday) / 34 weeks per annum 

Salary: £5,596.30 per annum + £1,044.28 holiday pay (Tier 8, £21,170 Full-Time Equivalent)

Location: The role is based at the Dartford Campus, but the nature of the work may require travel to any of the College sites.

Working within the College’s Dartford Refectory team, the Catering Assistant will be responsible for completing tasks as directed to maximise the enjoyment of visitors.

You will be expected to promote a positive atmosphere, allowing customers to have a memorable visit as a result of excellent customer service and an outstanding eating experience.

You will need to provide exemplary customer service to all who visit the refectory and to ensure that there is an excellent welcome for all learners and visitors. To convey knowledge to visitors on what the refectory offers and special eating needs/allergies.

To be successful in this role you will need to have a basic food hygiene certificate, knowledge of till operation, good level of literacy and numeracy, excellent communication and customer skills as well as the experience of working as part of a team.
