Do you have a passion for Engineering and want to inspire the next generation? Whether you’re working in industry or looking to change your career path, we have an exciting opportunity for an Instructor to join our engineering curriculum team in readiness for the start of the 2026/27 academic year, with an aimed start date of 19 August 2026.

Our Instructors are responsible for providing demonstrations, assessment of learners and practical instruction in engineering workshops and associated teaching facilities. Also assisting in the maintenance and organisation of the practical resources used on the engineering programmes. Instructors are required to teach 105 hours per academic year and provide technical assistance to the wider department when required.

We are seeking a practical and motivated Instructor in Engineering to support the delivery of high-quality technical training and workshop-based learning across a range of engineering programmes. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with learners and teaching staff to develop practical skills, safe working practices, and industry standard techniques within a hands-on learning environment. The successful candidate will assist with the preparation and maintenance of equipment and workshop resources, support learners and tutors during practical sessions, and help ensure a safe, organised, and engaging learning experience. With a strong understanding of engineering processes and health and safety requirements, you will play an important role in supporting student achievement and preparing learners for progression into the engineering industry.

The Role:

Where you’ll work: This role is based at our Gravesend campus.

Your hours: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per annum (1 FTE).

Your pay: The salary range for this post is Spine Point 23 (£26,676 per annum) to Spine Point 24 (£27,474 per annum).
