Do you have a passion for education and want to inspire the next generation? Whether you’re already working in education and looking for your next role, or if you’re working in industry and looking to change your career path, we have an exciting opportunity for a Lecturer to join our Construction curriculum team.

You’ll be required to prepare, teach, and assess at a variety of qualification levels, providing support and guidance to your learners as they progress through their studies. You will bring in-depth knowledge of the subject area, strengthened by relevant industry or professional experience, alongside a formal qualification that supports your expertise.

We are looking for a collaborative team player with excellent communication skills, who can take a proactive approach, demonstrate strong attention to detail, and work effectively to demanding deadlines.

If you have teaching experience, especially within Further Education this is desirable but not essential. Similarly, while a full teaching qualification (Level 5 or higher) is not required at the time of appointment, you must be willing to achieve this within three years of employment, fully supported by the College.

The Role:

Where you’ll work: This role is based at our Gravesend College.

Your hours: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per annum (1 FTE)

Your pay: £38,049 to £45,445 per annum full time equivalent, dependent on qualifications and experience

The Group:

North Kent Colleges Group (including Hadlow College) is proudly rated as an Ofsted ‘Good’ provider, with ‘Outstanding’ learner behaviours and attitudes (April 2024). With four colleges across Kent (Dartford, Gravesend, Hadlow and Tonbridge) and over 6,000 students, we strive to equip the young people who study here with an inclusive and innovative education experience to enhance their future career prospects, which, as noted by Ofsted, is supported through our high-quality, industry standard facilities. Each and every staff member plays a key part in delivering the success of our learners’ experience, and we want those who join our curriculum and support teams to share our passion in achieving this.

The Benefits:

In addition to a competitive salary, you can expect the following as a Lecturer at NKC Group:

  • 42 days’ annual leave, plus bank holidays (pro rata for part-time contracts).
  • Enrolment onto the Teachers’ Pension Scheme (TPS), one of the most generous in the country.
  • Access to free parking and a number of onsite facilities, including gyms, restaurants and coffee shops.
  • CPD and support from our in-house Teaching & Learning team, who coach, train, and guide our Lecturers through their teaching journey, from unqualified and new to teaching to qualified and experienced.
