Who we need
We are seeking an enthusiastic, innovative and industry-informed Music Technology Lecturer to lead the development and introduction of our Level 1 and Level 2 Music Technology provision. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about music production, sound technology and education, and who is committed to creating engaging learning experiences that inspire students to develop both creatively and technically.
The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping and establishing the curriculum, helping to build a dynamic and inclusive programme that supports progression, employability and student success. You will be confident teaching learners with a wide range of prior experience and able to create a supportive environment where students can develop confidence, creativity and technical skills.
We are looking for someone with strong subject knowledge across areas such as music production, recording, sequencing, mixing, live sound, DAWs and contemporary music technology practices. You will bring industry relevance into the classroom and support students in developing practical, real-world skills.
What you’ll bring
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience within Further Education is desirable and you will have a strong background in music technology, production or a related discipline.
- Experience using industry-standard software and equipment such as Logic Pro, Ableton, Pro Tools or similar DAWs.
- A creative and student-centred approach to teaching, with the ability to motivate and inspire learners of varying abilities and backgrounds.
- Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a wider curriculum team.
- The ability to contribute to the growth and development of an exciting Music Technology provision and help shape its future direction.
