Thank you for taking the time to consider an application to Llangatwg Community School.

Llangatwg is a school that is evolving rapidly in response to the demands and opportunities of the Curriculum for Wales, while continuing to build on a strong and well-established foundation. This combination of innovation, ambition and stability makes Llangatwg an exciting place to work and an environment in which colleagues are genuinely supported to develop their practice and leadership.

Having completed my first year at Llangatwg, I can say with complete honesty that it is a wonderful place to work. What truly sets our school apart is the depth of care shown to both pupils and staff. Relationships are strong, support is embedded, and there is a shared belief that wellbeing and success go hand in hand. We are proud to be a school that looks after its people, while remaining outward-looking, reflective and determined to improve.

Our pupils come to us from across the Neath Valley, from Cadoxton to Banwen, creating a truly comprehensive and diverse school community. This breadth of intake is one of the most rewarding aspects of working at Llangatwg. Our staff body reflects a similar diversity of experience, with many colleagues choosing to remain at the school for a significant period of time.

Following a recent strengthening of our pastoral structure, we are seeking to appoint THREE enthusiastic and committed Pupil Wellbeing Officers to play a key role in supporting pupils’ wellbeing, attendance, behaviour and engagement.

I hope the information in this pack helps you to decide whether Llangatwg Community School is the right place for you. Should you choose to apply, I wish you every success and look forward to the possibility of welcoming you to our school community.
