Development Rugby Coach
Bank Contract - 18 hours a week
£16.93 - £18.50 per hour - Depending on experience and qualifications
Based at the St Albans Campus
The Rugby Academy Programme at Oaklands College, in association with Saracens Rugby Club, is undergoing some significant changes for 2024-25. An exciting opportunity has arisen for two enthusiastic and ambitious coaches to join the revitalised rugby academy programme for the coming academic year, as coaches of the Development Squad.
Working with the Head of Rugby, the Development Rugby Coaches will contribute to planning and delivery of all on-field coaching activities for the Development Squad, including individual player development, personal development, and rugby education, and preparing Development XV teams for fixtures.
The successful candidates will work in collaboration with the newly formed Saracens ACE Academy coaches to ensure consistency and alignment in delivery to support the seamless transition of players from the Development Squad into the ACE Academy Squad
Required Skills:
• Essential; Level 2 RFU Coaching Award, or ability to attain award within calendar year.
• Essential; Minimum two years experience of coaching or teaching, ideally within junior age groups.
• Essential; Confident, adaptable and innovative coaching methods and communication styles appropriate for the development of junior rugby players.
• Desirable; Sport-related or teaching-related degree or higher level qualifications, e.g PGCE.
• Desirable; Experience coaching on performance pathways such as DPP and PDG programmes.
