Location Abbeywood Community School
Post: Teacher of Religious Studies (Raising Standards Leadership opportunity for suitably qualified candidate)
Contract: Full time, Permanent
Pay Scale: £30,000 to £46,525 per annum
We have a fantastic opportunity for an outstanding and highly motivated Teacher of Religious Education to join our dynamic Humanities faculty from September 2024.
A willingness to teach other humanities subjects would be an advantage, but is not essential. There is a Year 8 or 10 Raising Standards Leader opportunity for a suitably qualified applicant.
The successful candidate will be required to deliver high quality lessons, engage, challenge and inspire our students to learn about themselves by allowing them to reflect on their own beliefs and ideas, and developing a knowledge of and respect for other people’s views. All year 10 students at Abbeywood are entered for GCSE RS in year 10, so this role will include the opportunity to teach KS4 classes.
The post holder will be passionate about the subject and will be able to develop exciting and engaging learning experiences across all year groups. They should have a strong sense of team work and a willingness to contribute and a desire to improve their own and the faculty’s practice.
Both newly qualified teachers and experienced teachers are welcome to apply.
Abbeywood is part of a large and successful family of schools. The Olympus Academy Trust (OAT) is a partnership of schools, currently comprising nine South Gloucestershire schools; one all-through, three secondary and five primary academies. There are plentiful opportunities for CPD across the Trust as part of this role.
