We are looking to appoint an outstanding practitioner to teach pupils with ALN within Canolfan Elfed which is a fully integrated inclusion centre within the school. Canolfan Elfed is run in partnership with Carmarthenshire County Council to meet the needs of a broad range of pupils who would typically be educated within a specialist provision outside of a mainstream school. Pupils placed in Canolfan Elfed receive specialist support according to their individual needs whilst also benefitting from being able to access the benefits of a mainstream school setting.
The successful candidate will:
• Have experience of working with children and young people with ALN (candidates from both primary and secondary teaching backgrounds will be considered).
• Have the ability to deliver consistently outstanding lessons.
• Ignite a Passion for Learning in all our students.
• Be creative and dynamic in the classroom.
• Organise and implement a diverse, flexible curriculum and implement an effective assessment framework
• Have the skills to form excellent working relationships with all individuals
• Have experience of managing teaching assistants and using teaching assistants effectively.
• Have a qualification in ALN or is working towards a qualification in this field.
• Have sound knowledge of Curriculum for Wales and ALN transformation
