With more than 2,000 students, 200 staff and numerous visitors attending the College each day, Queen Mary’s is a very busy place. The site is large at 23 acres and includes a Sports Centre and a Theatre. The buildings vary in age and furnishings and a dedicated team of cleaning staff are employed to keep the site a welcoming, clean, safe and pleasant place for everyone.

We are looking for strong team players who will take pride in their role and help us provide a great place to work and study. Ideally, we are seeking several individuals to work approximately 6-8.30am Monday-Friday on a temporary basis however, other hours such as the middle of the day will be considered. 

The ideal applicant for this role is someone who can demonstrate; the ability to work on their own and as part of a team and will take pride in the place that they work.

Purpose of Job: To maintain a high standard of cleanliness throughout the College, keeping the buildings clean and tidy and free from litter. 

Key Outcomes: 

• The College is clean and pleasant for all users at all times 

• Machinery and cleaning materials are used safely and stored securely

Salary: - £8.72 per hour (point 1 on the Sixth Form Colleges Support Staff pay scale).

Normal working hours:- 6.00am – 8.30am, Monday – Friday ideally, however, other hours such as the middle of the day will be considered. 

Holiday entitlement:-   Casual workers are given an additional paid holiday allowance on a pro rata basis approximately equal to 12.07% of hrs worked.
