Job Title: Progress Coach

Status: 1x Permanent, 37 hours; 1x Maternity Cover, 37 hours

About the role

As a Progress Coach, you will provide dedicated support to a caseload of students, to ensure they all make effective progress with their studies and develop the skills they need to be successful in their future lives. This is achieved through preparing and delivering high quality weekly group tutorial sessions as well as holding 1-1 tutorial conversations supporting students to break down barriers to learning.

You will also signpost students to access the right support from our specialist College services to enable them to overcome any barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

You will play a key role in helping the College to achieve outstanding levels of student retention and achievement by tracking and monitoring learner progress and attendance in conjunction with our new attendance impact officers.

Key responsibilities:

  • Conduct one-to-one meetings with individual students to provide individual support.
  • Monitor student progress, retention, attendance and achievement rates.
  • Work closely with other staff across the College, involved in the learner journey to ensure standardisation of the student experience.
  • Provide additional academic coaching including study skills development as required
  • Ensure all appropriate administration is completed in a timely manner in relation to each student

The successful candidate will have:

  • Level 3 qualification.
  • Recognised Teaching Qualification (or be willing to work towards one).
  • Some experience of working directly with students/young people
  • Some experience and/or knowledge of employability skills
  • Ability to develop effective relationships with students on a 1:1 and group basis.
