Starting salary - Teachers scale 14 (£78,982 FTE)
Full-time, 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year from January 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter
Richard Taunton Sixth Form College is seeking an inspirational and highly effective leader to drive improvements across our curriculum and student outcomes. This role is key to ensuring that we achieve our strategic aim of delivering high quality education to our local community.
At the heart of our aspirations to grow and develop our 16-19 provision is an ambitious curriculum plan focused on the development of an inclusive curriculum offer, which includes full-time provision from Level 3 to Level 1, designed to meet the broad educational needs of the communities we serve.
The role of Deputy Principal is fundamental to enable the college to implement our strategic and curriculum plans and ensure excellent outcomes for our diverse student community. We are seeking an exceptional individual, with a proven track record of high student achievement and quality improvement to lead our curriculum and provide highly effective management of staffing, resources and education services to enable us to achieve the aspirations set in our Quality of Education principles.

This role will hold responsibility for shaping and developing curriculum in accordance with local labour market need and emerging opportunities. The future Deputy Principal will be someone with a positive and forward-looking ethos, who understands the importance of a growth culture and high professional standards, whilst always promoting Trust values.
The Deputy Principal will join our senior team and will work collaboratively with colleagues to lead and develop a high-quality and agile curriculum that meets local need. The successful appointee will share our desire for Richard Taunton to be an outstanding college and will be active in college life. Some cross site working will be required.
