About the Role

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a College Nurse Practitioner to work within the Safeguarding and Student Support Team. The role of a College Nurse Practitioner is to provide a professional, confidential and holistic health service to the College community. This role involves delivering first aid, offering advice and guidance on physical health matters, and conducting risk assessments related to health.

As College Nurse Practitioner you will act as a bridge between clinical healthcare and educational support, offering immediate intervention for physical and mental health crises. A core function of this role is to act a key member of the Safeguarding Team and to work alongside members of cross College teams and external stakeholders to promote physical health for all our students. The key fundamental to this role is to promote Health and Wellbeing of all learners across the College.

You will plan and deliver a monthly Health Promotion Programme, tailored to address known relevant health issues, e.g. sexual health, healthy lifestyles, smoking etc. liaising with the Student Support Services and Marketing teams to maximise learner engagement with their programme.

You will…

To be successful as a College Nurse Practitioner you will need experience of working within a medical or clinical health environment with a recognised clinical mental health or contraception and sexual health qualification as well as registration of a nurse or nurse practitioner.

You will have experience of delivering learning/training to groups of young people and/or staff on health and wellbeing related topics. You will have experience of working as part of a team but also able to work independently.

In addition to the vocational/professional industry qualifications, you will hold a Level 2 (or equivalent) qualification in English and Maths or be willing to work towards.

The role of College Nurse Practitioner will be part of the Safeguarding and Student Support Team, managed by the Physical and Mental Wellbeing Team Leader. You will work collaboratively with different departments within college; including; Director of Campus, Curriculum teams and business support teams.
