Are you an ambitious, experienced and qualified HR professional looking to lead a small team of happy, friendly and highly motivated staff wishing to provide a high-quality HR service to the Royal Russell community?
We are looking to appoint an HR Manager to lead the HR team. This is a pivotal role, at the heart of the Royal Russell community, where you will work with 400 colleagues through the School, reporting to the Director of Operations/Finance with responsibility for providing operational and strategic support across the whole of the School on all HR and people matters, including supporting both Headmasters, the teaching and operational managers to develop and deliver effective people management practices. Your remit will also include drafting and reviewing all HR policies and processes to ensure that they effectively underpin the School’s strategic objectives, our strategic inclusion plan. You will lead our existing HR Team, of an HR Advisor and a Payroll and HR Advisor, who provide a high-quality HR service to Royal Russell School.
As a proven leader, you will have the gravitas to represent the school internally and externally, with confidence to lead your team autonomously. We welcome candidates from a broad HR background who are CIPD qualified, with significant post-qualification and leadership experience, who are used to providing advice to managers at all levels and who are equally happy to get involved with the individual people issues.
You should have excellent people skills and high professional standards together with a lively, friendly personality, strong empathy with young people, excellent communication skills and be happy to work independently, or with part of the wider School Leadership Team. You will be comfortable using an HR database, (which is provided by CIPHR) to provide relevant management information and reports, able to manipulate staffing data in excel to work with the Finance team in the annual staff budget-setting process and have strong attention to detail to ensure that accurate changes are made to the monthly payroll in time for each pay run. You will understand the need for appropriate compliance checks for new staff appointments so that the Single Central Register remains accurate and up-to-date at all times.
