Richmond upon Thames College (RuTC), based in Twickenham, is one of London’s most successful Further Education colleges providing education and training to 16-18 year olds and adults from Richmond, London and Surrey. Around 2,000 students and employers choose us because we offer a wide range of academic, apprenticeships and technical vocational qualifications.

Over the past few years the College has strengthened its position in the London FE landscape through an ambitious strategic plan that has delivered improvements across all aspects of our work. We are currently in consultation to merge with Harrow and Uxbridge College (HCUC), with a view of this taking place during the 2021-22 academic year.

Currently we are recruiting for a Head of School for Sixth Form and Foundation Learning.

We are looking for an inspirational leader who will challenge, develop and motivate teams and individuals to achieve excellence in all aspects of College targets. Emphasis will be placed on leadership, operational management, business innovation and promotion of continuous improvements in educational and financial outcomes to ensure student experience is of the highest quality.

The School’s curriculum offer comprises a range of A level and equivalent qualifications, Access to HE (Humanities), a GCSE Pathway programme and Foundation English and Maths (including Functional Skills and GCSE). A key component of the Head of School role will be the management of Foundation English and Maths, with an Assistant Head of School supporting with key management responsibility in the other areas of provision. Previous experience and successes in management of Foundation English and Maths are therefore essential.

It is expected from the post holders that they will have a contemporary and forward thinking approach to curriculum design.

If you are a leader who can inspire and motivate a team to attain good student outcomes and have a record of achieving consistently above national average outcomes levels within a FE setting then we would like to hear from you.

Please note that the interviews for this role will be held w/c 16th August.
