About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented and enthusiastic teacher to undertake the role of A- level Chemistry teacher at Pendleton Sixth Form College. The ideal candidate will have excellent subject knowledge and a proven track record of academic achievement. It is essential that candidates are passionate about working with young people and have high standards of achievement for all learners. We welcome applications from experienced teachers and ECT’s. ECT’s are fully supported through our two-year ECT programme.

If you are an experienced teacher and would like to be considered for the Deputy Head of STEM role, please indicate this in the supporting information section of the application form. As DHoD you will promote the highest levels of achievement for all students through the delivery of inspirational teaching and learning. You will work with your team to develop and monitor the curriculum to maximise the achievement of all students.

The STEM department comprises of A-level Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Maths, Further Maths and Computer Science. Many of our teachers are also examiners and some have worked in the STEM industry prior to teaching, bringing their knowledge to the classroom. Enrichment is a key strength in the department with trips to CERN, and visiting speakers including Oxford University lecturers.
