As the ‘Further Education College of the year 2019’, we have an opportunity for an Additional Needs Officer to join our HubeXtra and Additional Needs Section on a full time and permanent basis.

The successful candidate will support the co-ordination and organisation of additional student support for the College. Specifically, the post will entail cross College liaison with both academic and support members of staff, assessment of student needs and liaison with external agencies. It is essential that all aspects of the role are documented through the existing quality procedures for audit and inspection purposes. The post holder will be expected to participate in forward planning and the development of the service.

To be considered for this role experience in supporting learners with a wide range of needs, including hearing and visual difficulties, autism, dyslexia, ADHD, physical care needs and mental health, together with an understanding of these needs within a Further Education environment is an essential requirement. A clear understanding of Educational Health Care Plans (EHCPs) and the provision for High Needs in mainstream FE is also essential.
