The children, staff and governors of The Newlands Federation are seeking an exceptional, qualified Early Years Practitioner to join our small team in our nursery at Shere Infant School. This is a temporary contract to cover maternity leave.

Shere is a very special place to teach and to learn. Our school is set in the beautiful, historic village of Shere, in the Surrey Hills.

Our curriculum is ambitious and holistic, it is delivered through our natural pedagogies of play, the arts, nature, storytelling, dialogue and games. In this way we support the natural development of children, promote their mental health and maintains their natural curiosity and independence.

We are looking for someone:

  • with imagination
  • who has the ability to use their own initiative
  • with a passion for early years education
  • who relishes a challenge
  • with a good sense of humour and the ability to work well in a team.

We can offer you:

  • a supportive team and friendly working environment
  • a group of eager, creative, curious children
  • the freedom to innovate and create
  • a commitment to staff wellbeing and work life balance.

The wellbeing of all staff at Shere is a key priority for us. Teaching is the most rewarding job in the world but it can also be challenging. Supporting our staff to maintain their work life balance in a way that suits their individual needs is a priority for school leaders at Shere.

If you are a creative Early Years Practitioner with a passion for holistic early years education, we would love to hear from you. I warmly invite you to visit us at Shere prior to your application; I would love to show you our beautiful, little school.
