Mental Health Lead

Permanent / Full Time (37 hours per week) / Term Time Only

Salary details: GRADE G spine points 23-26 £32,517-£35,068 pro rata for Term Time Only (actual salary £27,252- £29,390)

Start Date: 31st August 2021 or sooner if available

Solihull Sixth Form College is a specialist level 3 provider for approximately 2200 students aged 16-19. We are passionate and committed to providing a great education to our students, supporting their progression both academically and personally. As well as focusing on excellent teaching and learning we are committed to providing excellent pastoral care for all learners and are creating a new post of Mental Health Lead to further enhance our provision.

We are seeking a pro-active and experienced Mental Health Lead to join our pastoral and safeguarding team to initiate this role and establish mental health support at the heart of our pastoral support for students.

The successful candidate will work closely with our safeguarding, additional learning support and academic coaching teams, to promote excellent mental wellbeing, lead group sessions, triage referrals, support individuals and ensure appropriate provision is in place.

To be successful you will have a qualification in mental health support and an understanding of safeguarding. You will also have previous experience of working with young people perhaps as a support worker, nurse or mentor.
