Post: Part Time Science Technician

Term Time only + 5 days (39 weeks per year) 31 hours per week

Salary: Band B, Full time equivalent range £18,276-£19,382 (actual salary range after pro-rata £13,171-13,968)

The Sixth Form College, Solihull is a large, culturally diverse specialist in A Levels and Level 3 BTEC qualifications, and part of the Summit Learning Trust.

The post holder would play a vital role in supporting the provision of high quality Chemistry teaching in the college. You will be required to look after laboratory equipment, set up lessons and support teachers within the department. You will work closely with the Senior Chemistry technician and teachers. You should be flexible enough to support other members of the technician team when needed.

The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about practical work and highly skilled in their understanding of health and safety, chemicals, equipment and processes. They will also be enthusiastic about working with young people.

You will be educated to A level or equivalent in the relevant science subject(s) and hold GCSE Maths and English or equivalent. Recent experience of laboratory work is essential, ideally in a school or college environment.
