We are seeking an enthusiastic, resilient and highly compassionate Lecturer to join our Foundation team working on our GROWTH programme, supporting young people to re-engage with education, build confidence, develop life skills and create positive pathways into further learning, training or employment.
GROWTH (Gaining Resilience, Opportunities, Work Experience, Transition and Hope) is a specialist programme designed for learners who may not have thrived in traditional educational settings. Through a personalised, relational and trauma-informed approach, we support students to develop the skills, confidence and aspirations needed to achieve their next steps.

As a Lecturer on the GROWTH programme, you will work with small groups of learners, building positive and trusting relationships that help students feel safe, valued and capable of success.
You will deliver engaging and meaningful learning experiences that support personal development, employability, resilience, wellbeing and progression, whilst helping students overcome barriers to learning and participation.
This is not just a teaching role; it is an opportunity to be a mentor, advocate and positive role model for young people who need someone to believe in them.

• Build positive, professional and trusting relationships with students through a relational and restorative approach.
• Support learners to develop confidence, resilience, motivation and self-belief.
• Deliver learning that develops employability skills, personal development, wellbeing and readiness for further education, training or employment.
• Create a safe, inclusive and trauma-informed learning environment where all students can thrive.
• Monitor student progress and contribute to target setting, reviews and progression planning.
• Work closely with the Curriculum Leader, Wellbeing Team, Additional Learning Support, Safeguarding Team and external agencies to provide coordinated support.
• Contribute to work experience, enrichment activities and community-based learning opportunities.
• Actively promote attendance, engagement and positive behaviours for learning.
• Support the College's commitment to inclusion, belonging and high aspirations for every learner.
About You: 🌟
We are looking for someone who:
• Holds a recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS or equivalent), or is willing to work towards one.
• Has experience of working with young people who may face barriers to education, including those at risk of becoming NEET.
• Understands trauma-informed practice and the importance of building strong relationships to support learning.
• Has experience supporting learners with SEND, SEMH needs, adverse childhood experiences or complex personal circumstances.
• Is passionate about inclusion and believes that every student can achieve and progress.
• Has excellent communication, interpersonal and behaviour-management skills.
• Can inspire and motivate young people who may have previously disengaged from education.
• Is resilient, patient, adaptable and solution-focused.
