âš Are you looking for a varied, hands-on role where no two days are the same?
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Laboratory Technician / Instructor to join our supportive team and help deliver high-quality practical learning across both Further Education and Higher Education. This is an exciting opportunity to work in busy, well-equipped laboratories, supporting lecturers, guiding students with sample analysis, preparing practical sessions, maintaining specialist facilities and helping staff and students make effective use of our laboratory spaces.
The role offers excellent variety, with opportunities to support a wide range of scientific techniques and practical activities, including:
⢠Microbiology and Bacteriology
⢠Microscopy
⢠Nutritional analysis including bomb calorimetry, electro-spectrophotometry and atomic absorption.
⢠PCR, Electrophoresis and ELISA.
⢠Thin layer Chromatography.
⢠Blood, Urine and Faecal analysis.
You will also have the opportunity to contribute to teaching and research activity within our vertical growing laboratory and agritech facilities, supporting innovative work linked to land-based science, sustainability and applied research.
For an appropriately qualified applicant, there may also be scope to undertake some limited teaching, making this an ideal role for someone who enjoys combining technical expertise with student support and practical instruction.
