University Centre Sparsholt is looking for an inspiring and passionate lecturer to join our Access to Higher Education teaching team, for three days a week.

Sparsholt’s Access to Higher Education courses provide a platform for mature learners to gain the skills and qualifications that are needed to continue onto degree-level study. These courses sit within Sparsholt’s Higher Education department, and offer routes into either land-based or veterinary science degrees.

The successful candidate will teach a range of Level 3 modules which may include science, business, and research projects, with links to land-based education. We appreciate that this is a broad range of academic delivery, and we would consider candidates with varied academic backgrounds. Candidates with are confident teaching chemistry or biology at Level 3 would be particularly advantageous.

The successful candidate will become part of our friendly and ambitious University Centre Sparsholt team. This academic role will involve delivering both theory and practical sessions, alongside supporting and tutoring our degree students.

We would like to hear from candidates who hold an undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject. The post holder should also possess an appropriate teaching qualification, or be willing to work towards this. Experience of working in an academic environment would be highly desirable. All staff will engage in CPD and scholarly activity, and there are opportunities for personal development appropriate to the role.

For an informal discussion about the role, please contact reception or HR, and ask to speak with Natalie Stones or Chris Rapley.

We reserve the right to close this vacancy early should sufficient applications be received.
