Lecturer in History (A Level) – Maternity Cover

  • 💰Salary: Up to £39,201 per annum (depending on qualifications and experience)

We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic lecturer to teach A Level History as maternity cover. You do not need previous experience of teaching in Further Education to apply. This role would suit either an experienced teacher or someone with strong subject knowledge who is looking to move into teaching for the first time.

If you have not previously taught in Further Education, please do not be discouraged from applying. We are happy to support the right candidate to train while in post, including full financial support for a recognised teaching qualification.

About the role

You will deliver high-quality teaching in A Level History, supporting students to develop strong subject knowledge, critical thinking skills and a genuine interest in the subject.

Based at our Andover Campus, you will be part of the Humanities department, a supportive team that works closely together to provide an engaging and positive learning experience for students.

About you

You will:

• Hold a relevant degree in History or a closely related subject

• Have a genuine passion for History and the ability to inspire learners

• Be able to communicate clearly and work effectively with young people

• Be organised, motivated and keen to develop your teaching practice

Experience teaching History at A Level is desirable, but not essential. We welcome applications from candidates without previous FE teaching experience, including those considering a career change into education.
