We are seeking an enthusiastic and ambitious Curriculum Cluster Leader for Criminology and Sociology to join our outstanding teaching team. This role combines classroom teaching (primarily Criminology, with the ability to teach Sociology being highly desirable) with a strategic leadership post that will influence curriculum direction, teaching standards, and student success across the Cluster.
About the Role
As Cluster Leader, you will:
Lead a team of teachers and support staff to deliver exceptional outcomes in Criminology and Sociology.
Ensure high standards of teaching, learning, and assessment through coaching, mentoring, and curriculum development.
Drive continuous improvement, manage resources, and contribute to strategic planning alongside the Director of Faculty.
Promote your Cluster internally and externally, championing its achievements and innovations.
Teaching Responsibilities
You will deliver engaging, high-quality lessons in Criminology, and ideally Sociology, creating an inclusive environment that challenges and inspires students. You’ll play a key role in planning curriculum, supporting student progress, and promoting academic excellence.
What We’re Looking For
A qualified teacher (e.g., PGCE) with a relevant degree and a passion for Criminology.
Strong classroom experience, ideally in a sixth form or further education setting.
Proven success in improving student outcomes and leading educational improvement.
Excellent interpersonal skills, team leadership experience, and a growth mindset.
The ability to innovate and adapt teaching methods to suit diverse learning needs.
