We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher of Biology who shares our ambition to improve, grow, and inspire students. This role is of great importance to our work as a college with the successful candidate being responsible for teaching and inspiring students to achieve their potential across a range of exciting and evolving subjects. This opportunity is open to both ECTs and Experienced Teachers.

About you

The ideal candidate will be an inspirational and engaging teacher with a strong track record of delivering good or outstanding results, have a commitment to raising aspirations across the college and supporting the wider college community.

The successful candidate will have insight and enthusiasm; should be willing to adopt an innovative approach to curriculum planning and be committed to using a wide range of approaches to support students making progress in and out of lessons.

Above all else, the you should be enthusiastic about their work with young people and have a genuine concern for their development as individuals.

In addition, you will need:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and PGCE;

A degree in the specialist subject or industry experience;

Experience of Teaching A-Level Biology (Applied BTEC is also desirable)

Excellent knowledge of the curriculum and related topics.

Desirable to also be able to teach Chemistry or Physics.


You will be joining an excellent team, strongly committed to reflecting on its teaching techniques and sharing excellent resources. The team promotes a friendly, professional atmosphere within the department and places a strong emphasis on encouraging positive rapport between staff and students in the pursuit of academic success. There is a wealth of experience and professional knowledge with encouragement to undertake CPD.

You will:

Teach engaging and inclusive lessons in Biology;

Equip students with essential knowledge and skills for personal development;

Create a safe and supportive classroom environment where topics can be explored with confidence;

Plan, deliver, and assess innovative lessons that inspire curiosity and promote holistic learning;

Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment programs within the department.

About the recruitment process
