Teacher of Sport - Fixed Term - 0.6875 FTE

Are you passionate about making a positive impact on young people's lives? Are you eager to support their educational journey and help them achieve their full potential?

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated teacher with the expertise to teach Sport to join our Sport and Protective Services Team within our highly successful and inclusive Sixth Form College on a Fixed Term basis. You will be joining a team that is passionate about supporting students to achieve their very best potential.

About you

You will have the skills and abilities to provide an outstanding student experience through teaching, learning and assessment, enabling students to maximise their potential. We are looking for an innovative and inspirational classroom practitioner who would work collaboratively with the team and who can motivate students engage with the subject and to participate actively in lessons. As a committed and dedicated teacher, you will contribute to all aspects of the curriculum, ensuring students benefit from a high-quality learning experience.

To be successful in this role your teaching will be of high quality and this will be reflected in your results. You will have the passion to be part of a successful teaching environment to deliver inspirational teaching and putting the learners at the centre of all that they do to enable them to make outstanding progress and achieve their aspirational goals. You will promote and nurture a culture focused on growth, purpose, and a sense of belonging to help students achieve, find their best fit for the future and to be their best selves.

Experience in teaching either sport or protective/public services is essential. The successful candidate will be open to teaching both areas including teaching Level 2 Public and Level 3 Protective Services.

You will be joining an excellent team, strongly committed to reflecting on its teaching techniques and sharing excellent resources. The team promotes a friendly and professional atmosphere and places a strong emphasis on encouraging positive rapport between staff and students in the pursuit of academic success. There is a wealth of experience and professional knowledge with encouragement to undertake CPD.

As a Teacher at St. Brendan's, you will be expected to:

  • Contribute to the development and delivery of all our Protective Services & Sports courses;
  • Contribute to high-quality learning experiences using a variety of teaching and learning methods based on current best available practice;
  • Create an outstanding student experience which leads to progression or employment;
  • Providing academic and pastoral support to students in accordance with agreed procedures;
  • Support the extra curricular elements of the course.
