Carpentry & Joinery Lecturer 

Up To £17,250, with up to £1,500 STEM specialist skills award  

18.5 hours a week, Permanent

You’ll teach both theory and practical skills to 16-19 year olds who’ll learn best if we develop creative teaching schemes, assignment activities and assessment materials.  You’ll be confident and keen to teach a wide variety of topics covering bench joinery and site based carpentry skills up to (and including) Level 3.  

 

Come and join us as we launch our full size house simulated construction site - a great new facility to train and learn in.  Our students will really value your real-time experience working in the trade and if you share our objective to assist them into their chosen career path we would welcome your skills, empathy and good humored teaching delivery.

Qualifications and experience required: 

 

• A Level 5 Teaching qualification (or a commitment to gaining this as we will consider candidates that fall outside of this range if you can strongly demonstrate the required competencies). 

• Level 3 qualification in Carpentry and Joinery 

• Level 2 English and Maths (or equivalent)  

• Assessor A1 - desirable 

• Substantial knowledge of both Carpentry and Joinery and  

• Confidence and experience leading on Moderation
