This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Design & Technology specialist with a talent for leadership to share their knowledge and love of their subject in our vibrant and supportive grammar school setting, where a focus on STEM is a school priority.
The DT department applies a ‘doing’ approach to learning, merging creativity with design and engineering to stunning effect. This summer, students achieved 100% A*-B at A level and 97% 9-7 at GCSE, demonstrating the students’ engagement in the subject. The dedicated work of the DT department and enthusiasm for the subject, has resulted in two Sixth Form students recently receiving Arkwright Scholarships.
While the successful candidate will be confident in teaching Design & Technology to high achieving students, the school will support the development of the skills needed to lead a department, and previous management experience is therefore not essential.

Candidates suitable for the role will:
- be able to teach Resistant Materials or Graphic Products or Product Design to KS4
- be at an advantage if they can teach Product Design to KS5 and all disciplines, including Food Technology, to KS3
- be an excellent classroom practitioner
- be able to stretch and challenge able students to achieve highly
- have the ability to communicate effectively with all staff, students and parents
