George Street Primary is a welcoming and successful school.

We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Level 2 teaching assistant to join our highly motivated team on a fixed-term basis, 8:45 to 15:15 five days a week.

We are seeking a committed and experienced Level 2 Teaching Assistant with proven experience in a primary school setting. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, caring and nurturing, showing genuine excitement when learning goes to plan and resilience and adaptability when it does not. They will recognise that meaningful learning opportunities can arise from the most unexpected situations.

Applicants must have experience supporting pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN), including social, emotional and behavioural needs, and be confident in attending to the personal care needs of children where required.

The role includes confidently working under the instruction and guidance of teaching or senior staff to deliver care, support and learning programmes that enable learners to access education, both in and out of the classroom. Applicants must maintain high expectations for behaviour, engagement and learning.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a creative, positive and flexible approach to working as part of a classroom team and show an open-minded commitment to adapting provision in response to children whose needs may change daily. A strong, inclusive and child-centred approach is essential.

Applicants must be able to contribute willingly to the daily running of the class (e.g. by taking part in lunch duties, supervising playtimes, welcoming children at the gate, dismissing at the end of day etc).

A sense of humour and a desire to make learning and time in school fun is essential. For an informal discussion regarding this vacancy please contact Keri Manley, Headteacher.
