Torfaen PRU provides education for children and young people experiencing emotional, social and/or behavioural difficulties, those who have been permanently excluded or are awaiting a managed move, or those whose emotional or medical needs temporarily prevent them from attending school.
Torfaen PRU aims to ensure that young people secure their rights of entitlement through their respective ‘windows of trauma’. We retain good links with mainstream schools, and we aim to re-include pupils back into mainstream or more appropriate settings, within realistic timescales whenever possible.
We are seeking to appoint an experienced teacher (full time) who is confident in delivering Mathematics and English. The successful candidate will have a good understanding of the Curriculum for Wales and be prepared to work collaboratively with colleagues across the region. The successful candidate will be an experienced and creative teacher who has previous experience of delivering a range of subject areas. They will have excellent classroom practice and be committed to continual professional learning.
Successful classroom teaching and experience of working alongside children and young people who experience emotional, social and behavioural difficulties is also desirable. We are looking for experienced Primary or Secondary practitioners who are confident in delivering in a Primary model.
