We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Maths Study Support Tutor to join our supportive and dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to students’ confidence, progress, and achievement in maths across a range of programmes.
You will provide individual and small-group support to students studying GCSE Maths, Functional Skills Maths, and other numeracy-based qualifications, helping them to build understanding and develop effective study habits.
Working closely with teaching staff, you will help identify learners who would benefit from additional support, track progress, and contribute to interventions that raise achievement and retention.
About You
You will have a sound knowledge of maths up to at least GCSE level and a genuine interest in supporting young people and adults to succeed. Ideally, you will have experience working in an educational setting, supporting students with their studies, and be confident in adapting your approach to meet a range of learning needs.
A qualification in maths (Level 3 or above) is essential, and a teaching or support qualification (or willingness to work towards one) would be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide one-to-one and small-group maths support sessions.
• Reinforce and explain key mathematical concepts in line with course requirements.
• Support students in developing study skills, exam techniques, and confidence.
• Monitor and record learner progress and provide feedback to teaching teams.
• Contribute to the development of learning resources and support materials.
• Promote a positive, inclusive and encouraging learning environment
