Student Travel and Finance Officer

Salary: £26,669 – £28,389 pro rata (Scale 5)

Hours: 30 hours per week or full time (flexible for the right candidate)

Location: Truro and Penwith College

Truro and Penwith College are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Student Travel and Finance Officer to join our busy Finance Team. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you’ll play a key role in managing student travel products, bursary allocations, and financial processes that directly support our students and College operations.

In this varied role, you will:

• Create and manage online store products such as bus passes and trips.

• Oversee the distribution and reconciliation of student bus passes, liaising with Go Cornwall and other providers.

• Coordinate bursary fund allocations and prepare accurate monthly reconciliation reports.

• Manage financial aspects of College trips and other income-generating activities.

• Provide excellent customer service to students, parents, and staff.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with data and financial systems, thrives on accuracy and efficiency, and can balance a busy workload while maintaining a friendly and professional approach.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Strong analytical, reconciliation, and reporting skills.

• Excellent Excel skills, including use of pivot tables and data formulas.

• Experience in financial administration and data management.

• Strong communication and customer service skills.

• Great attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
