United Colleges Group

Quality Assurance Leader

Full-Time- 35 hours per week

£33,679 - £35,524 per annum (including London Weighting Allowance)

United Colleges Group, formed in 2017, has continued to provide strong education and skills support to the c16,000 learners who we serve every year. We have around 1,000 dedicated, skilled and enthusiastic staff who always put the needs of our students first and we are now looking for a Quality Assurance Leader to join our cohort of dedicated staff.

UCG have recently reviewed its leadership and management to better reflect our aspirations around the world of work by creating a series of Career Clusters and a Development & Innovation area led by 8 Assistant Principals, who were appointed at the beginning of the academic year.

The cross-college service of Performance and Quality has an opportunity for a suitably motivated and experienced Quality Assurance Leader. The role will play a pivotal and collaborative role in ensuring robust management and monitoring of relationships with Awarding Bodies, complaints and appeals processes and procedures and support with validation of provision.

The successful candidate should have a solutions focused approach and feel they can make a real difference to the quality assurance systems in a large and thriving college, and which in turn impacts positively on our students and staff. You should also be familiar with the regulatory requirements of Awarding Bodies and Ofsted.

The Quality Assurance Leader will effectively build rapport and empathy with colleagues to develop solutions and achieve positive outcomes for all in alignment with organisational objectives.

The Quality Assurance Leader will;

• Hold a relevant quality assurance qualification

• Have a degree or recognised teaching qualification - desirable but not essential

• Have experience and a proven track record of a cross college/organisation quality assurance role

• Have a good knowledge and understanding of national quality assurance frameworks, drivers, processes and procedures

• Understand regulatory compliance requirements of Awarding Bodies including External Quality Assurance visits

• Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a flexible solutions focused approach to quality assurance and improving systems and processes

In return, the Group offers generous annual leave, a defined-benefit pension scheme, an interest-free season ticket loan, cycle scheme, free sight tests, enhanced maternity and paternity leave schemes and many other benefits.

If you’re ready to join a Group that has the resources to develop the talents of both students and staff, you can find more information on this role and details on how to apply by visiting the “Work With Us” section on our website. Alternatively, you can e-mail us for an information pack and application form, quoting the job reference.

was that specific in the texts last time round but given it was one of the defining qualities of what we recognised in what makes the role currently so effective maybe it should be?
