The Role

The Social Media & Content Executive role includes providing day-to-day community management for United College’s Group, City of Westminster College and College of North West London’s existing multiple social media accounts (including X, Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook and Youtube), increasing engagement and impact, as well as launching UCG and the colleges on new channels such as TikTok and Snapchat.

The postholder will be responsible for creating compelling and engaging content. You will work alongside the Digital Marketing Manager and Head of Marketing & Communications, as well as with external suppliers such as freelance film-makers to commission new content for college channels, and will work with the wider Marketing team on student recruitment campaign content. In this role, you will ensure effective allocation of the annual content budget, working with the Digital Marketing Manager on budget decision-making.

This new role will also be responsible for monitoring and evaluating the performance of digital content and posts across social media channels, providing regular reporting to the marketing team and wider college community, advising on changes to approaches, recommended improvements, new technologies and/or trends.

About You

The ideal candidate for Social Media & Content Executive role should possess experience in managing multiple social media accounts, growing online communities and creating content, ideally in the education sector or within youth marketing. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent writing, copy-editing and proofreading skills as well as an ability to analyse social media metrics, and will have experience managing external suppliers on content creation.

The candidate will have interest in and a practical understanding of accessible social media content and how to create it. The Social Media & Content Executive will possess the ability to communicate clearly and with confidence to a range of audiences orally and in and they will have the knowledge and understanding of social media management tools like Later, Sprout or Hootsuite. A knowledge of editing software such as Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud are preferred however, training can be provided.
