Working closely with vocational curriculum leaders, ESOL and support services, you will ensure that students access appropriate English and maths provision and develop the knowledge, skills and confidence needed for further study, apprenticeships and employment. You will also be responsible for curriculum planning, development and quality assurance, including managing qualification changes and aligning programmes with local skills priorities. A confident leader, you will be able to lead a team of academic and support staff effectively, driving excellence in teaching, learning and assessment.

We are seeking an ambitious and inspirational FE leader who can demonstrate:

• Degree qualified, with a full Level 5 teaching qualification recognised by the FE sector

• Experience of leading and managing GCSE English and/or maths and Functional Skills provision within a Further Education or post-16 setting, including evidence of improving student attendance, progress and achievement

• Proven experience of leading, managing and developing curriculum teams to achieve high standards of teaching, learning and assessment, including staff development, performance management and improving learner outcomes

• Experience of managing change and implementing curriculum improvements, including responding to qualification reforms, assessment requirements and the changing needs of learners

• Knowledge and experience of quality assurance and improvement processes, including the effective use of performance data, self-assessment and improvement planning to raise standards.

• Experience of working collaboratively with vocational curriculum leaders, ESOL and student support teams to improve English and maths participation, attendance, progress and achievement

You will be joining a supportive, inclusive and forward-thinking organisation, with many opportunities for professional development and growth. We offer the Teachers’ Pension Scheme, comprehensive wellbeing provision, a wide range of employee benefits and free car parking on all our sites.

This is a full-time, site-based role and the successful candidate will be required to work on campus five days per week.
