Maternity cover until 21st February 2025. 18 hours per week, 39 weeks per year to cover term times.
In this varied and rewarding role based within our Learning Support team, you will work directly with young people (Year 9 upwards) with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, and their parents/carers, to enable them to make an effective transition to Uxbridge College. Reporting to the Head of Learning Support, and in liaison with schools, specialist providers and local authorities, you would arrange interviews, visits and taster sessions. You would advise learners and parents on the curriculum offer, travel issues and address the specific needs of the learners whilst they are transitioning to, and progressing out of, the College. Responsibilities would also include administration of the formal review process for learners with Education, Health and Care Plans.
You will need to have experience of working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities in an educational environment. Together with your excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you will be able to build effective working relationships and meet the needs of a diverse range of people. You should also have good IT, organisational and administrative skills, and be able to prioritise a busy workload effectively.
