Waverley Education Foundation (WEF) is a Multi Academy Trust, which operates both Waverley School and Waverley Studio College. It develops, brokers and delivers a range of services which support learning, leadership and management and improve outcomes for children and young people.
Waverley School is an all through school for pupils aged 4-19. It also has a resource base for pupils with cognition and learning difficulties. Waverley Studio College is a specialist academy catering for 14 – 19 year old pupils, which offers both academic and vocational qualifications. WEF has over 1900 pupils. Within the trust, we aim to create an environment which allows everyone to develop mutual respect for each other and a respect for learning.
This is an exciting time to join WEF. We continue to be over-subscribed and popular within the local community. We have state of the art facilities for learning, teaching and training, and a strong staff team committed to the learning and development of all our pupils. Through our school improvement plans the schools continue to develop, and we expect to see good results again this summer.
The Board of Trustees are looking to appoint a highly motivated and committed individual as the Director of Safeguarding and attendance for the trust.
The Director of safeguarding will work closely with Executive Principal and Principals and will have responsibility Strategically lead on all aspects of safeguarding and attendance across the organisation, ensuring a strong culture of safeguarding is prioritised in all schools and risk is effectively managed and reduced. This post would suit a colleague with a strong record of improvement attendance across a range of settings.
The ideal candidate will share our determination to continue to provide an outstanding education for our young people without exception or bias. They will be enthusiastic, motivated and have a proven track record of effective leadership. They will need to be high achieving and self-motivating, and capable of playing a major role in developing individual safeguarding development plans that sit within the Trust’s vision for excellent safeguarding practice.
This role requires strong people management skills, empathy and excellent inter-personal and communication skills.
The successful candidate will need to meet the requirements of the person specification in order to be offered the post and will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
