We are looking for an enthusiastic and confident teacher, who can inspire a passion for English across key stages of mixed ability students. You will have a thorough understanding of current curricula as well as strong classroom management and differentiation skills, and the ability to bring your enthusiasm and confidence to the classroom.
You will come to a school full of creative and intelligent students. You will find a capable and experienced team that support children’s learning and who are very proud that OFSTED rates our pastoral care as a strength of our schools. We have one non-negotiable: you must be passionate about the care, happiness and learning of the children you’ll work with. It is also vitally important that you bring a sense of humour.
We value our staff and believe in them. We offer you CPD, training and support to develop, along with a friendly and supportive team of colleagues to work with.
Teachers that come and work for us do well. If you are keen to learn and make sure that young people are at the heart of everything you do, then there are many opportunities for you here and at all levels.
Our core rule is simple: you must care about our students. They are at the heart of everything we do, and we are united in our mission to provide them with the best possible educational experience.
Wigston Academies Trust comprises Wigston Academy (11–16) and Wigston College (16–19). Both institutions were rated as “Strong Good” in their latest OFSTED inspections (May and June 2022).
If you’re curious to learn more, we warmly invite you to visit us. Come and see what makes our community special—we’re confident you’ll like what you find.

We are committed to keeping children and young people safe from harm and abuse and to promoting their welfare, and we expect that everyone who comes to work for us will share the same commitment. Fulfilling this responsibility includes making sure that our recruitment process includes a range of measures to identify those who may be unsuitable to work with children and young people. In addition, all roles within the school are covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975, and are subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. This post may also be subject to further DBS re-checks at appropriate intervals.
