Coastland College is a General Further Education College spread across two campuses – one situated on the stunning Jurassic coastline in Weymouth and the other on a beautiful 18th Century Estate near the market town of Dorchester. As a newly merged organisation, we’re bringing together the best of both Weymouth College and Kingston Maurward College and together we are stronger, more connected, and more ambitious than ever. United by a belief that education is more than just a qualification, we are here to create an even stronger learning experience, with enhanced resources, a broader range of courses and industry-standard facilities.

With our combined expertise and resources, Coastland College is now one of the most dynamic and versatile further education providers in the region. From A-Levels to vocational courses and land-based studies to Apprenticeships, we have one purpose: to inspire our students and apprentices for individual success beyond expectation, ensuring that they are future-ready and prepared for today and tomorrow’s world.

In our first Ofsted inspection as a merged organisation in May 2025, we received a ‘Good’ rating in all 8 categories, along with the incredible result of making a “strong contribution to meeting skills needs”. Inspectors praised leaders, managers, governors and staff in “working swiftly to establish a collaborative culture that firmly places learners at the forefront of every decision they make”. Not only that, but we were also recognised for “helping learners and apprentices with their well-being and developing their confidence and resilience”.
