About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and student-centred Personal Development Tutor to join our team. In this vital role, you will deliver a dynamic personal development curriculum to groups of further education students and conduct regular 1:1 progress reviews to support their academic, personal, and professional growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and impactful tutorial sessions that support students’ personal development and wellbeing.
- Conduct regular 1:1 progress reviews, offering guidance and challenge to help students reach their full potential.
- Support students with CV writing, job applications, and preparation for employment.
- Promote high standards of behaviour, attendance, and engagement.
- Identify and refer any barriers to learning or wellbeing concerns.
- Collaborate with the wider tutorial and student experience team to ensure consistency and excellence in delivery.
- Maintain accurate and timely student records using ProMonitor.
What We’re Looking For
- 4 GCSEs at grade A–C (or equivalent), including English and Maths.
- Level 3 qualification (preferably in a related subject).
- Experience working with young people aged 14+ in an educational or support setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to deliver engaging group sessions and conduct supportive 1:1 reviews.
- High level of organisation and IT literacy, including Microsoft Office and Teams.
- A positive, proactive, and student-centred approach.
- Ability to travel between college sites.
Status: Permanent
Hours: 37 hours per week and Term-time only. Working weeks TBC but will be roughly 37 weeks.
Salary: £26,209 per annum pro rata
