Global Vocational Skills Ltd one of the UK's leading and more advanced digital content providers for the FE sector located in Watford, Hertfordshire.

We are looking for a Finance Manager with experience in the small growing company environment to provide financial control, operational support, and to work with us to establish and grow this business.

You will be reporting directly to the Managing Director.

To provide commercial financial support to the business. To provide proactive input to enhance the ambitious growth plans of the company.

Essential Experience:

• Previous experience as a Finance Manager
• At least partially qualified
• Previous experience working in a fast paced environment
• Previous experience within Operations/HR is preferable
• Experience in a small growing company environment
• Proven experience of providing commercial support to operational teams
• Demonstrate creative and forward-thinking approach
• Previous experience with QuickBooks Online is an advantage
• Knowledge of Russian language is an advantage

Finance Manager Responsibilities:

• Run payroll
• Raise invoices and ensure customer billing is accurate and timely
• Credit control
• Processing payments
• Prepare cash flow forecasts and monitor actual cash flows
• Monitor actuals to budgeted and forecasted expenditure
• Provide detailed analysis and understanding of sales, gross margins, and operational overheads
• Assist the operational teams with ad hoc issues to ensure a financially sound decision-making process
• Providing timely and accurate monthly management accounts
• Presenting meaningful financial information to operational staff
• Leading on annual budgets and quarterly reforecasting
• Development and reporting of key performance indicators
• Statutory accounts preparation
• Assist teams with ad hoc pricing decisions

General

• Adhere to all company policies and procedures within the defined timescales
• Carry out any other tasks that may be reasonably assigned to you
• Manage the office in line with the environmental policy – minimise printing by ensuring documents are on line, file using online software
• To ensure that filling has been done
• To manage processes/projects to improve the functions of the area that you manage
• Develop teamwork. You will be helping each other out for both of you to improve.
• To continually review the processes and procedures that you follow in order that best practice is continually updated and improved
• To be a ‘completer – finisher’ of projects
• To follow a process from start to finish
• To ‘think outside the box’
• You may also be required to carry out additional domestic, home care or alternative tasks, as you may from time to time be reasonably expected to meet operational requirements and business needs.
