Apprentice Teaching Assistants
Start Date: ASAP or January 2022
Pay Scale: £7.50 per hour (to be reviewed in the second year of the apprenticeship)
Actual Salary: £10,530 per annum
Contract Type: 2 Year Fixed Term Apprenticeship Contract, term time only
Hours of work: 36 hours per week, 39 weeks a year. (Term time only plus Inset days) Actual working times differ between the primary and secondary school.
Additional hours may be required during school holidays to complete the apprenticeship training.

Oaklands is an Outstanding special school serving the London Borough of Hounslow that provides specialist education to students with severe learning difficulties, profound and multiple difficulties and autism. We have a Primary school (New Oaks) and Secondary School (High Oaks). Oaklands is at an exciting point in its development. High Oaks is based in our purpose built new school building (close to Osterley Tube Station and other public transport links) that offers state of the art facilities for our students. New Oaks Primary School is based in our newly refurbished site at Woodlands Road.
Due to our rapid and continued expansion we are looking to appoint apprentice teaching assistants to work within our class teams across the school, supporting the teacher and other classroom staff in delivering education to small groups of students that have severe physical and learning disabilities. We have vacancies in our Primary and Secondary teams. Apprentices will be enrolled on an appropriate course of study and will work towards a Level 3 certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or an Early Years Qualification dependent upon which area of the Oaklands group they work.
